We are delighted to announce that Professor Gelareh Farshid will speak at Pathology Horizons 2015. Gelareh’s talk will focus on breast cancer; a significant public health issue, women’s most common cancer and the leading cause of female cancer deaths world wide.
Her presentation entitled “The Strengths, Drawbacks and Innovations in Screening for Breast Cancer” will outline why screening mammography remains a controversial subject and highlight innovations in this area.
Gelareh serves as the Clinical Director of BreastScreen South Australia and as a senior consultant pathologist at SA Pathology. With a long standing professional and research expertise in breast cancer screening, Gelareh serves on several international and national committees, including the BreastScreen Australia National Quality Management Committee, where she represents of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
