Dr. Glenn Edwards

Dr Glenn Edwards is a Chemical Pathologist and currently Director of Pathology for Eastern Health in Victoria – one of the State’s largest health networks.

He trained at the University of Western Australia and St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, and UNSW, where his research into computer intelligence led to the development of the LabWizard system and the Rippledown suite of decision support tools. These tools are in routine operation delivering value to a number of Australian and overseas laboratories. His team demonstrated the benefit of decision support in improving the utilisation of laboratory tests, and supporting a value-added approach to clinical pathology practice.

Dr Edwards has extensive experience in both clinical pathology practice and organisational leadership. His most recent roles include Executive Director for SA Pathology in South Australia where he led a number of significant reform programs, and Medical Director for St John of God Pathology. His current focus is on enhancing the “brand” for public pathology through better understanding its clinical, community and financial value.
