Margaret Grayson lives in Belfast and is Chair of the Northern Ireland Cancer Research Consumer Forum, working with the NI Cancer Trials Network and is the lay member of their Executive Committee. Margaret was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 and has been involved in partnering with researchers, as a patient, since 2010. She is passionate about research and the use of data that brings benefit to both patients and the NHS.
Margaret is Chair of the NCI/CRUK Cancer Grand Challenges Advocacy Panel. She represents NI on the National Cancer Research Institute Consumer Involvement Advisory Group. Margaret is a member of HSC PIER; use My data; Independent Cancer Patient’s Voice and EORTC Patient Panel. She is a lay member of the All-Island Cancer Research Institute Steering Committee and of the HDR UK DATA-CAN Hub Steering Board.
In June 2018 Margaret was awarded an MBE for services to cancer research in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
