Prof. Deon Venter, University of Wollongong, Australia will be joining the speaker panel for Pathology Horizons 2018 at the beautiful Lough Erne Resort in N.Ireland this September.
It is a privilege to have Prof. Venter back on the speaker panel for another Pathology Horizons conference. His talk in 2016 received excellent reviews and this year Prof. Venter will be presenting on the fascinating topic of emerging neuropathology diagnostics, particularly genetic scaffolds, phenotypes and advanced imaging.
About Prof. Venter
Prof. Deon Venter is a pathologist and molecular geneticist who has spent his career in the diagnostic medical space, utilising the interface between basic science and conventional pathology practice to address unmet diagnostic needs.
Prof. Venter’s diagnostic pursuits have included using whole genome sequencing to solve stillbirth cases; the development of a novel molecular genetic test for sepsis and the use of MALDI Mass Spec to implement the rapid biotyping of bacteria in the microbiology laboratory. He has utilised imaging mass spectrometry in a range of collaborations involving the structure and evolution of venoms and venom glands in diverse phyla. Prof. Venter has also consulted for multiple commercial entities. He is currently doing neuropathology in Sydney, Australia.

Pathology Horizons is an annual CPD conference focused on the future of pathology. Delegates will learn about new technologies, procedures and lines of research that are driving the future of pathology. This year the conference is being held in the five star Lough Erne Resort, Co.
